NewEngland Creative Homeschoolers & Advocacy Community
The New England Creative Homeschoolers & Advocacy Community, formerly known as Amesbury Homeschoolers, was established in 2015. The Facebook page started with just three members who convened at local parks, farms, lakes, and libraries. By 2016, the community expanded to over 1000 members.
This group is distinct from traditional co-ops or businesses; it functions more as a supportive community that encourages and uplifts families who are already homeschooling or those interested in exploring this educational option. It provides referrals to valuable resources on legal matters and offers a range of engaging activities, including field trips, art club, chess club, board game club, and themed parties. New events are continually planned to foster learning and connection.
Education is viewed as a personal journey tailored to each family's unique needs. Inspired by the words of Maria Montessori, "You are your child’s first teacher," it is recognized that parents play a crucial role in their children’s education. They are uniquely positioned to nurture and guide their children, making themthe most effective educators. There is a strong commitment to creating a community of learners and supporting families on their homeschooling journey.
