Puppy Playtime with Eleanor 🐾
Big feelings. New friends. Lots of puppy love.
What if working on big feelings, confidence, and friendship skills felt more like playtime than therapy?
Our Puppy & Kitten Playtime group is designed for children ages 5–10 who could use a little extra support navigating childhood. Through therapist-led activities, guided play, and time with animals, kids can practice important social-emotional skills in a fun, relaxed environment.
And they’ll have a very enthusiastic helper by their side: Eleanor!
Meet Your Playtime Specialist
Eleanor is Golden Hour Counseling’s Social-Emotional Animal and Professional Good Girl. She takes her job very seriously, especially when it comes to:
🦴 Belly Rubs — Chief Belly Rub Officer
🐾 Making Friends — Director of Happy Greetings
💛 Play — Resident Playtime Specialist
🎾 Feelings + Fetch — Fetch & Feelings Expert
🌞 Spreading Joy — Official Joy Ambassador
Eleanor brings her playful personality and love of connection to playtime, helping create a welcoming space where kids can play, connect, practice, and be themselves.
What Do Kids Practice?
With support from Eleanor and our therapist-led activities, kids can work on:
Managing big feelings
Building confidence and self-esteem
Practicing friendship and social skills
Communication and emotional regulation
Connecting with others through play
Navigating everyday childhood challenges
The best part? Kids get to practice these skills while playing with puppies and kittens, getting happy greetings from Eleanor, and having a genuinely good time.
Because sometimes Fetch & Feelings is a much better way to talk about emotional skills than sitting in a therapy chair. 💛
